Hi Everybody! Been out of the state for awhile but I'm back and you know what I'm doing... GENEALOGY! I have BLANTON, McCARTY, WEBB, and HALE that tie in together and was wondering if there is anyone who may have a connection with me. I am researching the following family(ies): I have my McCARTY's back to THOMAS McCARTY and MARGARET Peggy SALYER. The following I'm not sure about so I will list the names that I have so far: George BLANTON, Mary SALYER, Polly DAVIS: I have a James BLANTON and Polly DAVIS....they had a son, Bud BLANTON, who married Minerva (McCARTY?, d/o John McCARTY and Patsy UNKNOWN) John McCARTY/Patsy UNKNOWN FAMILY: Listed in 1850 Census---place unknown---info was given to me but has not been verified: John McCARTY age ? Patsy age ? Rebecca age 8 Nelson age 9 (his mother was a Johnson) David age 6 Minerva age 4 ------>>>>Nelson (above) married Louisa BLANTON ---->>> John McCARTY is the grandfather of Mary Etta McCARTY. John was born 1824 in Russell County, Va. Died 11-30-1861 in Johnson County, KY. He married Patsy UNKNOWN. ---->>>>John's McCARTY's father was Thomas McCARTY. Thomas McCARTY born: 1797 d. 1850 in Johnson County, KY. Mary Etta McCARTY is the daughter of Nelson McCARTY and Louisa BLANTON. ---->>>>Mary Etta McCARTY married William WEBB on 11-18-1880. William WEBB was 25 yrs of age and Mary Etta McCARTY was 16 yrs of age. The following is where I have hit a brick wall. William WEBB and Mary Etta McCARTY WEBB had a daughter, Addie WEBB who married John BLANTON, son of UNKNOWN. They were married in GREENUP COUNTY, KY on 10-19-1916. Addie WEBB has been married to a MEADE, VALENTINE, JUSTICE (dates and places unknown) The family of John BLANTON and Addie WEBB are: (note: not all the children are the children of John): 1) Lovesta BLANTON b. 10-18-1910 d. 6-4-1946 (buried in Dixon Cemetary--Ashland, KY); m. John HALE (these are my grandparents) I wonder why Lovesta's name is BLANTON when she was born BEFORE the marriage of John and Addie. Anyone got any ideas out there????? 2) Leona BLANTON b.? still living.... she married a STURGILL 3) Ray JUSTICE b. 4-4-1930 (according to obit his father's last name was VALENTINE) d. 1-27-1999 in Ashland, Boyd County, KY and is buried in the Dixon Cemetary. I traveled to Ky this past July and was supposed to meet Ray. Unfortunately, he died before I got that chance. 4) John Jay BLANTON b. (don't have the date with me) d. 11-11-1986. He was married to a JUSTICE. He is also buried in the Dixon Cemetary near his mother Addie and grandmother Mary Etta. I noticed another headstone with the name GARFIELD McCARTY who is supposed to be a brother or Uncle to Mary Etta McCARTY WEBB. Anyone with any information please contact me.
