I am researching Dills, Stanley, Combs, Preston, Walker, and a few others from Johnson County. A quick word about Ky pride. I spend much more time researching my husband's Ky roots than my own Oh ones. His are much more interesting, they have a great sense of history and family. I have busted down many "brick walls" because his ancestors were very conscious of heritage and most of the children's names could be traced to an aunt, uncle, or grandparent. His family here were considered poor white trash for some reason. But his family is much more centered and normal than my ancestors appear to be. I want my children to be proud of that heritage.
