Bill Mattheis -----Original Message----- From: Candy Parent [mailto:candy@htonline.htonline.com] Sent: Sunday, October 10, 1999 9:13 PM To: KYJOHNSO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Johnson County Census I have a quote back census: "We estimate the 1900 Census at about 280 pages (about $210, at 75 cents per page), and the 1920 Census at about 400 pages (about $300). We will provide five copies of a CD at no additional cost. If you have more than five people who want to pool their resources, we will provide 10 additional copies of a CD at $5 each." If my calculations are correct, the total for 15 of us would be about $18 each for 1900 and $24.00 each for 1920. I sent a reply back and asked if more than 15 total CD's are available. Will keep everyone posted. According to the web site, these will be only useable by a PC with Windows 95 or better. The web site is http://www.skpub.com/genie/ if anyone would like to learn more about it. Let me know who is interested and if there are enough, I will coordinate the project. I will need money in advance in order to make the deposit. Then if the project is more or less, I would need more money or send refunds. You would also need to include the cost of postage since sending out 15 CD's to different people could get rather expensive.
