Dear People, I have been reading all the condemning statements being made about Loretta Lynn regarding this cemetery. The cemetery should be a historical site of interest for many people, including those people who live in Johnson County, those who travel to Johnson County because they are fans of Loretta Lynn, and because the Webb and Butcher families have been there so long and their histories and some of the history of Johnson County will live on because of the book and the movie, Coal Miner's Daughter. Johnson County didn't make Loretta Lynn famous her talent made her famous. On the other hand, Loretta Lynn has made Johnson County famous. Maybe the people of Johnson County or the historical & genealogical societies in Johnson County could pay homage to Loretta and her family by setting up work weekends at the cemetery on a regular basis. Someone already noted that the man who usually takes care of the cemetery has too much work to do alone and is becoming an age where it is not as easy as it might once have been. Where is Christian kindness in this matter? How about offering to help the man clean up the cemetery? Nothing is accomplished when you sling dirt, except you are left with the dirt you intended for others on your own hands. And the cemetery still sits there in an unkempt state. Very very sad. Sincerely, Wendy
