Annette, I descend from Eleazor and Machelle thru their dau Elizabeth who married Jesse Osburn. Jesse and Elizabeth had a dau Lavina who m. William H. "Billy" Henson. My mother descend from this couple. As you probably know, the Lemaster genealogy back to Abraham Lemaitre of St. Charles Co. Maryland has been heavily researched and is well and broadly documented. My Osborn/Osburn lineage is solid to Jesse and Elizabeth. There is a lack of good evidence to document Jesse's genealogy. Oral tradition seems to favor a connection to the Osburn family who moved from New Jersey/Pennsylvania to Loudoun Co., VA about 1732. The other connection I find cited most often makes a connection to the family of Captain Enoch Osborne of Revolutionary War fame. Personnaly, I believe that these two Osborn/Osborne/Osburn lines are related but the evidence is circumstantial at best and goes to geographic proximity (the Osborne line has roots in what is now West VA in an area very close to Loudoun Co. - the two areas being seperated mainly by the Blue Ridge Mountains and a few miles. Osburn migration into this area is well documented. Other evidence is similarity of first names in documented family records, some evidence that Captain Enoch actually resided in Loudoun Co. at some period during his life. Many Hensons, Osborns/Osburns and Lemasters migrated from EKY to NW Arkansas. My mother was born there in the little town of Winslow just before the Depression and migrated to the west coast with her family. May Hensons, Osburns, Lemasters still reside in this area. My mother's AR roots include other emigrants from KY, primarily Lyons from Wolfe Co, Nickells from the same county, and Perdue's from Knox Co. I would love to correspond and share with anyone who researches these families. Bill Mattheis Researching: Osburn, Lemaster, Henson, Perdue, Caudill, Jaynes, Ramey, TAckett, Skelton, and most other EKY surnames it seems. -----Original Message----- From: Annette Towler [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, June 08, 2000 8:25 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [KYJOHNSON] photos Bill I descend also from this same line.
