Hi Deanna I just read your email on the Johnson Co. list. I couldn't help noticing the Pennington/Curtis. What do you know about this branch? If you know anything at all, please let me know. The reason for my interest is a story handed down to my husband by his grandfather. He, Forrest Curtis, maintained that his branch of Curtis' were actually Penningtons and that somewhere in the line, a Pennington was raised by a Curtis and took the name Curtis. I have only managed to go back as far as Forrest's father, James A. Curtis, listed in the Johnson Co. 1880 census as living with his wife, Alafair Holbrook's parents. I have been stone-walled at James for quite some time. Everything I have tried has led to a brick wall/ Am hoping you may have some info. Thanks for your time, Gay Curtis
