War soldier was b. in Wilkes Co., N.C. in the year 1790, d. in Wayne Co., W.V., 25 Jan. 1874. In Floyd Co., Ky., on 29 Feb. 1814, he m. Sarah Welch b. 1793 in N.C., d. in Wayne Co., W.V. but date unknown. Floyd Co. Ky., Marriage Bonds File 1 222 - License dated Feb. 25, 1814, issued by William J. Mayo, C.F.C.C. for marriage of Jesse Maynor and Sally Welch. Clerk certified that Jesse Maynor produce the necessary certificate from John Fluty and wife, authorizing him to issue license for their daughter, Sally Welch to marry the said Jesse. Floyd Co., to wit. I do hereby certify that I did on or about the 29th day of February join together Jesse Maynor and Sarah Welch, given under my hand this 25th day of July, 1814. Spencer Adkins, J.P.F.C. Note: The real father of Sarah Welch is not known but records were found that stated that he was from Ireland.
