    3. I am forwarding this from another list. I think these sites are wonderful. I know that many of us had miners in the family who worked in these W.Va. mines. The pictures are astounding! I have been out of town for a week, and just saw your message. I have lots of information on all the coal mining disasters from the Bureau of Mines in WV and other states. However, it was not considered a <major> disaster unless 5 or more men died. To us (their loved ones and the brave men) it was indeed a disaster. Jane DeMarchi who works at MSHA (Mine Safety & Health Administration office in Beckley) may be able to help you. All the mining records are kept there, and if the coal company they worked for filed a report she will have a record of it. Sometimes it is a lot, and other times scant details if it was a single or less than 5 men were killed. MSHA has a web site which can be reached from my webpage at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ridge/4478/link.htm. She is a great lady, and we have become good friends. The Dehue Exhibit is now in MSHA's museum. Her e-mail is[[email protected]]. I hope you finally found my website. lol Hope this helps.
