Graduate of Walnut High School and retired with 27 years service from Westinghouse. Veteran of U.S. navy. Life member of VFW Post 7941, South Bloomfield. Preceded in death by parents, wife Mary E. [White] Wheeler, sister Jean Sims. Survived by son, Rick [Rhonda] Wheeler, Margrate, FL; daughter, Gayla [Jim] Evans, Ashville; brother, Jim [Marilyn] Wheeler, Naples, FL; sisters, Kathleen [Jud] Holley, Ashville, Faye Sisson, Westerville; brother-in-law, Ralph Sims, Columbus; grandchildren, J. C. Evans; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004 at the Oliver Funeral Home, Ashville, where service will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2004. The Rev. Frank Waters will officiate. Burial will follow in Floral Hills memory gardens, Circleville, with military honors by AMVETS, Post 2256, Circleville.
