Marilee, I have this same situation with my grandfather in the 1910 census in WA state. He's 17 and listed with his parents...then shows up as a lodger at a logging camp. I'm sure they're both him. I think it compares to having a child away at college...They live there during the week and come home on most weekends. Loretta
