Does any know the name of the person Johnson County is named after? I believe it was a B.F. Johnson. Can anyone pass along the full name and lineage of this Johnson? My Johnson's came from NC and VA and settled in Floyd County, later to become Johnson County. Parts of the family later moved to Lawrence County. I'm interested to see if there is a connection. Thanks for all the information on the HALL family. If I am not mistaken they were known as the "Beaver Creek" set of Halls. I have been chasing the "Buffalo Set" of Halls and have a "brick wall at DAVID HALL & his wife BETTY MUSIC. John M. Hall, my gggrandfather and decendents are known to me but not his parents or ancestors. I believe all the Halls in Eastern Ky came from VA and are related somewhere, but I am stuck here...Ron Hall

Donna, My wife's gr-grandparents were Elijah "Lige" Cantrell & Margaret Ann Bowling. I think Lige was the brother to the Henry "Perk" Cantrell who first married Huldy Dulin and then a Lou Jenkins. Charles W. Hall was born in 1946.... Paul & Ernest I am "assuming" born 1920's maybe early 1930's. Also not sure what the relation to Paul & Ernest Hall is whether cousin's or brothers. It is believed that Paul may have come up to Ohio, but not really sure on that just speculation. Since Johnson County is a major coal mine area, I thought maybe someone maybe interested in a book that my friend has. It is a coal mining reference book published by the Kentucky Mining Institute in 1945. It is a question and answer type book that covers all aspects of how to strip coal.
