Hi Shannon, I have what is probably the same DANIEL info that Don offered you. Mine came mostly from a great Daniel researcher named Libby Preston--don't think she's on this list. Anyway, if you want to send me some specifics, I'll check the info for your ancestors. Bonnie, No offense take..LOL Lemaster is a prominent name in Johnson , Lawrence and Magoffin Counties. And yes, I think we are related to just about everyone..LOL Ann Lemaster-Applegate
I am researching Dills, Stanley, Combs, Preston, Walker, and a few others from Johnson County. A quick word about Ky pride. I spend much more time researching my husband's Ky roots than my own Oh ones. His are much more interesting, they have a great sense of history and family. I have busted down many "brick walls" because his ancestors were very conscious of heritage and most of the children's names could be traced to an aunt, uncle, or grandparent. His family here were considered poor white trash for some reason. But his family is much more centered and normal than my ancestors appear to be. I want my children to be proud of that heritage. Hi Bonnie, It seems like it anyway huh??? <smile> ----- Original Message ----- > Is everyone related to a Lemaster in Ky?
Hi Shannon - Nothing to be embarassed about. This is form is used for many of the genealogy softwares. << Descendants of Thomas Daniel 1 Thomas Daniel 1789 - 1868 d: November 28, 1868 in Van Zandt , Co. , Texas The 1 stands for the first generation on the list. . +Mary "Susie" Ward 1796 - 1827 m: October 28, 1812 in Floyd Co. , KY d: Bet. 1827 - 1828 in Floyd Coynty , KY The + means that he married Mary .... 2 Andrew Daniel .... 2 Solomion Daniel .... 2 George W. Daniel the 2 in front of these names mean they are the second generation on the list and the children of Thomas & Mary ........ +Polly Ward The + means Polly married George ........... 3 Moses Daniel 1852 - the 3 means Moses is the third generation on the list and is the child of George and Polly Hope that helps - don't ever be shy about asking questions. None of us were born knowing these things! Sharon
Thanks Karen! I did not have John and Mary's kids!!! Ann
Cousin Bill, I am deeply touched by the posting I just read from you. I created this list so that we Johnson County researchers would have a place to come together to share our lines, find new cousins, swap stories and share a few laughs. I did not do it for personal gain or ego. I did it through my love for Johnson County and its heritage. I did it also because this is one thing I can do for the county and by that, I mean keep it alive. As long as we communicate on this list, talk about our ancestors, share their stories, realize their hardships, etc. , we are keeping their memory alive. We are not letting them be forgotten. I realize, at times, I let guidelines, rules and regulations overpower my heart, but without a certain amount of those, a list can run astray and never be brought back to the original origin. Which in a way can be compared with Rory Kennedy's (so called) documentary on Eastern Kentucky. A few comments here and there make me look like a heartless machine, which I am not. Rory's document makes Eastern Kentuckians look like idiots, which they are not. It is you Bill, that deserves the thanks here, not me!! And I apologize for not seeing the true meaning of your first posting! May this be the best Christmas ever for you and yours! Ann
Karen: Sorry, but I have not been able to get past my gr, gr, gr grandfather Samuel Patrick, born probably about 1810, not even sure where. He died about 1845, so no census showed much about him. Do you have the Magoffin Historical Society's books on the Patrick family? I think my Samuel was in Bath County before Morgan was formed. He married Emily Coffee in Morgan County, 1832. Sorry I couldn't help. Bud
Bill, No problem, my friend! I just posted it to the list..hee hee Ann

My Grandma, Mollie Curtis Pigg Wells, of Paintsville (Greentown) used to make fried corn by putting some butter in her big old cast iron skillett and then would cut the kernels from fresh picked (from her garden) corn and add to the skillett with a little salt and pepper. Bill, Frederick Stambaugh's mother was Charlotte Rogers. Ann
Bill: My Fraleys are apparently siblings who married into my Robinette line. Julia Fraley was the second wife of Peter Robinette; Sarah Fraley married my great-grandfather, William Trigg Robinette; Kelly Fraley married Martha Robinette; Thomas Fraley married Sally Robinette. These Robinettes were siblings and I've been told that the Fraleys were also siblings, children of William and Mary Fraley of Russell Co., Va who moved to Lawrence Co., KY. I have not done any research on this yet. Jesse was the son of William "Billy" Henson and Lavina Osborn, dau. of Jesse Osburn of Mudlick and Elizabeth Lemaster, dau. of Eleazer ("Old Ealy") Lemaster and Machelle Tackett. Any other info you have on the Fraley family would be great as an assistance in my research. >>

Ellen, I am interested in Wells, and Spears. Email Me at grannybonnie50@webtv.net
Hi all, I am looking for WELLS, SPEARS, ROBINSON, and BALDRIDGE. I am especially interested in any info concerning my ggrandmother Mary Jennie Spears Baldridge, b. 1864. She married Zachariah BALDRIDGE in 1880, and died before 1906, when Zachariah remarried. Her parents were Morgan SPEARS (son of Spencer SPEARS and Roseanna WELLS) and Catherine ROBINSON (parents unknown). Both parents seem to have disappeared from the face of the earth immediately after her birth. The rest of the SPEARS/WELLS clan are pretty well documented, thanks to the help I have received from other WELLS descendants, but I know nothing about the ROBINSONS at all. Thanks for reading this, and I hope to connect with some more of my Johnson County family soon! Lynn Penick
