    3. Candy, Clark county is in the southwestern quadrant of the state. Springfield is the county seat and it is about (I'm guessing) 45 miles north of Cincinnati and 45 miles west of Columbus and about 20 miles northeast of Dayton. 3. Excellent suggestion, Jo. Both of my web sites are included in my signature block, the first is for genealogy and the second for my favorite ship. My genealogy site is in both the Eastern Kentucky and the Virginia genealogy web rings; by using them you can browse lots of interesting sites you may not learn about otherwise. The links are at the bottom of the contents page. With all modesty I hope some of you will visit my award winning Navy site also! Best wishes, ===== Earl B. 1. Web Page URL
    2. Since I haven't seen Laura McKenzie on this list for some time, I thought I'd put her URL on. It has really been a lot of help to me. She has put her gedcom on two sites. She has the old Eastern Kentucky Searcher's index on her gedcom, so I thought you would all be interested in it. There's a lot of Johnson and Morgan County families in it. You can see the information but can't download it at: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/c/k/Laura-B-Mckenzie-AL/ Or you can download the gedcom from this site: http://www.egroups.com/group/ekyhampwvbrowns/info.html If you go to that address, there's a menu running across the top. Click on VAULT. In the Vault section are groups of files. If you open the gedcom folder, you'll find her gedcom there ready to download. It has a lot names in it. Here's what she wrote to me about the information: Please remember that all the information is a work in progress. If you download the gedcom you will see where I explain my guesses. If you look at the information at the FTM site, you'll won't be able to see what are guesses so be careful and please understand I mean the information to be helpful but may be inaccurate. I need to keep the guesses in keep track of where I think they belong and to let others see what I think. Bud Caudle

    2. http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/c/a/u/Richard-M-Caudle/ Sorry, folks, but I'm embarrassed about my page. For some reason I've not been able to go back into the page to make corrections and additions. There are plenty of both. If you use this page, please be careful and use it only as a starting point. I'm wrong in several places. In addition to that, I have very little documentation. Bud Caudle

    3. In this particular case, deletion was the better part of valor! Bill -----Original Message----- From: Jhwham@aol.com [mailto:Jhwham@aol.com] Sent: Saturday, December 11, 1999 11:18 AM To: KYJOHNSO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Non use of Subject Line in Email Messages! Hello All, Might I suggest that users of this, and any subscription list, properly use the "Subject" line and include a title or some descriptive phrase of the subject content of the Email message! I subscribe to many lists and do not take the time to read "Unidentified Subject" messages anymore. I have just "DELETED" twenty-seven Email messages from my mail box which had accumulated overnight and which had the title "Unidentified Subject". Those who do not use the SUBJECT line properly are very possibly missing out on important genealogy information as many, many list subscribers will no longer take the time to read untitled email messages. This is not meant as a "slam" or "flame" to anyone, just a suggestion which should and could be very beneficial to many subscribers of the various lists.
