    2. I should have mentioned in my previous post that many of the Caudles in Lawrence County, descendants of William and Jane Wheeler Caudle/Cordial maintained the name Cordial and Cordle, some Caudill and some Caudle. I think I show them all with the name Caudle. Bud

    2. I had just unsubscribed from some Lists for the next couple of weeks but happened to read my unread email and saw all the info on the mankins families. I`m desc. from the mankins of Alexandria Va. who were from Charles Co. Md.about 1750 to 1850 or so. and I think from Peter MANKINS. I will pull my info up and double check; so just keep inputting and I`ll be watching; will input when I can. My lines include Mark Matthew Mankin and one Charles E. MANKIN (born about 1769) Thanks, Sue in Al.

    2. Shannon: Guess I started the height thing about the Lemasters. I should have gone to private e-mail instead of on the list. Sorry for the confusion. My great grandmother Lucinda Lemaster was reportedly 6 feet tall. So I asked Ann and Vicki if they were tall. Turns out one is and one isn't. Bud Caudle

    3. Bud, Peter Mankins took his family to AR about 1828/30. Unfortunately, I don't have much on descendants of Peter Sr's children, except my own (Millie). I have some grand-childrens names but no farther. Probably your John Henry was child of one of them. John B. went to CA. Don't think any of his kids stayed or came back to AR. Henry didn't marry Samuel and family settled in Williamson Co, TX. Don't have names of William's children, one source says he had two. That leaves Walter and Peter, Jr. Walter and Polly Low's ch: 1. Isaac, b c1829, KY 2. Peter, b c1830, KY 3. Rachel, b c1832, IL 4. Sarah, b c1835, AR 5. John, b c1836, AR 6. Walter, b c1840, AR 7. Henry, b c1842, AR 8. Samuel, b c1844, AR 9. Priscilla, 2 8 Peter, b 1856 9 E. J., b 1869 Most of this sent by various people. Unproven. By the way, Harrison AR is county seat of Boone Co, formed 1869 from Carroll & Madison Co. Carroll Co, formed 1833, co seat, Berryville and Madison Co formed 1836, co seat, Huntsville. These counties border Missouri. Hope this will be of some help. Betty

    2. Vicki: I'm responding to you on the list because others might be intersted in this also. Yes, I'm confused, but have a little more sense of what goes on. But as you can tell by what I have that I was already confused. Did William Ramey Wheeler get his name from Eleanor Harrison Wheeler's second husband? Or did I misunderstand that part, too? Would you please look over my info and see if I have it really messed up? I'm confused with your info because I'm not sure which are different generations belonging to whom from the previous generation. I think I have it, but not really sure. I'm descended from the 6th generation Wesley Thompson Caudle and Lucinda Lemaster. My Adkins line came from VA to Pike Co., shortly after 1877 my great grandfather Wyatt Adkins was taken to Lawrence Co and raised. His son, Wyatt b 1901, moved back to Pike Co in 1920, then on to Floyd Co. So you see, I have a lot of moving ancestors to track down. Mary Adkins Pinion http://community.webtv.net/Rpinion64/ADKINS
