Just wanted to touch base with each of you and let you know that I talked to my friend on the phone today and suggested that they check their e-mail. Well, I have just received an e-mail from my friend. My friend , along with the spouse, read each and every post and was overwhelmed with the responses! I have copied a portion of the e-mail I received and am now pasting it here for you all to read. This is pertaining to after my friend and their spouse read the postings from you all: ********************************************** "...(spouse) and I read the messages together and we were both in tears. All the messages were warm and caring and made us feel a part of the whole Johnson County world out there. I copied and printed it to sent to my mother. She will really appreciate it. Would you please tell everyone how much it means to us for them to express their concern and send us such warm feelings. I can't even begin to tell them how it boosted our morale especially after 3 doctor in one day. It came at the a time when we really needed it." *********************************************** I am proud of each of you, and along with my friend, give each of you many thanks! I will continue to post updates from time to time. May God richly bless you all! Ann
Bill I descend also from this same line. Eleazor & first wife Machelle, son's Big Frank and Eleanor Jayne. Which line are you? Elijah, Elizabeth or Lewis? Sharing my concerns and letting you know prayers are being sent. I, too, have had tears in my eyes seeing the support that the Johnson Co. listers have demonstrated. Many times I've "stood up" for EKY when remarks are made about hillbillies. This time I can easily stand proud. I currently live in the central part of the state....but the mountains are my home.....because of the people.
Ann: It was late last night before I saw this. My prayers are with our friend. Thanks for caring. Bud
Faith: I love the pictures. You've done a great job with the page. Would you like to have a picture of Lewis Lemaster and one of his daughter Lucinda. Supposedly the pictures were taken when Lucinda married Wesley Caudle in 1877. Bud
Great idea Mary! I think we need to show our friend and the family our love and support. My prayers and support also go out to our friend. A card will be in the mail today. Michele Aavang Woodstock, IL
Ann, I am new to this forum and just want you to know how impressed I am with what you have done. I will add your friend to my prayer list here in Tennessee and also with my church. How wonderful to find "extended family" that shares the values that were instilled in me by my ansesters in Johnson Co. long ago.
Ann: We have a card on its way this morning. Please let me add that I know you have been through a lot in the past year with your family and friends, so please take care of yourself, and don't get yourself sick. We live by Faith, Hope and Charity, among these Hope being the greatest. So just keep hoping for the best and your prayers will be answered. Gordon R. Prayers are being offered for the person who is ill. Prayers do work miracles. God be with. When dark night falls upon our appointed path and daylight seems to be extinct God, prayers, family & friends share in our burdens and are our lighthouses in the stormy sea they walk along beside us help us to our feet as long as we have these four things we will never know defeat ~Wendy
Mary Ann, I think that is an excellent idea!!! Cards may be sent to "Our Friend" c/o Ann Applegate P.O. Box 334 Maysville, Ky 41056 I will most definitely make sure that they are received by my friend! You all are a wonderful group! Ann
Ann, This posting may not be genealogy. We are all people also. I will keep you and your friend in my prayers and also pass along the word to friends and family. You can count on me to get your friend into as many prayers as I can. I believe that it could so easily have happend to any one of us. I know I would appreciate the prayers. Crystal
Dear Fellow listers, If we can get Ann to agree and I know she will, why don't we all send cards to our "cousin" so that it is known that we all care and offer our love, support and prayers. We could send it to the P.O. Box that Ann has set up with ATTEN: Our Cousin and friend in care of Ann. This will let them and the family know that we are all here and will be. Ann can you please post the Box number and how you would like us to address the cards?
