    2. Is this Ann? My line is Basil DANIEL, son of Ed and Mary Castle Daniel who was the son of George daniel who was the son of James Daniel. right now I can`t place David and Melissa. Thanks for responding. If you are of these lines let me know. Sue in Al. I have FRANCIS, DORTON. GRIMM, HELTON, PRESTON, VAUGHN and 2 CASTLE lines in this family. The Grimm family is the one that goes back to ancient families on some of the maternal lines. I think it was the men who used to marry for wealth and position then. LOL

    3. I want to let everyone on the list know that there are now 36 photos posted on my McKenzie Family Album. Several pictures were added today by Judy Preston Wallace. Thank you Judy! There are a few pictures that might be of interest to more of you than just the McKenzie researchers. One is a picture of William Randall Preston - Son of Shadrach and Elizabeth Van Hoose Preston. I believe he is related to the McKenzie family - perhaps someone can tell me how. Another picture of general interest is the Cold Springs United Baptist Church of Johnson County, Kentucky. The church was torn down for the Paintsville Lake project. The land where it once stood is now under water - thanks to Ann for that information. There is also a picture of the country store of Maggie (McKenzie) b. 1899 & Tolvie Burchett 1895-1978. They had the store during the 1940's in Redbush, Kentucky. Visit my photo albums at: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=573222 Let me know if you have any photos that you would like to add. Sharon McKenzie Pleasant Hill, CA

    3. Got this from another list thought it was worth sharing. Faith From: How Green Was My Valley by Richard Lewellyn I saw behind me those who had gone, and before me, those who are to come. I looked back and saw my father, and his father, and all our fathers, and in front, to see my son, and his son, and the sons upon sons beyond. And their eyes were my eyes. As I felt, so they had felt, and were to feel, as then, so now, as to-morrow and forever. Then I was not afraid, for I was in a long line that had no beginning, and no end, and the hand of his father grasped my father's hand, and his hand was in mine, and my unborn son took my right hand, and all, up and down the line that stretched from Time That Was, to Time That Is, and is not yet, raised their hands to show the link, and we found that we were one, born of Woman, Son of Man, had in the Image, fashioned in the Womb by the Will of God, the Eternal Father. I was of them, they were of me, and in me, and I in all of them."

    3. Sharon, This may be confusing but bear with me. Cold Springs United Baptist Church wasn't ever named Cuba Church, folks just called it Cuba Church (pronounced Cubie). The area in Elna where the church originally stood was Cuba, very close to Cuba school. I guess you could say they nicknamed it Cuba Church House. I dont know where the W.W. Williams Homeplace was but I will make a few calls tomorrow and see if I can find out. Hope I have confused you a whole lot! Ann

    3. At the moment I really dont know when that photo was taken but I will show it to my mom tomorrow. She was born and raised in Johnson County. She went to that church all of her childhood years, up until she got married and moved away. Paint Creek ran along side the Church house and that is where they baptized many of my family members. The photo you have was taken when the church was located at Elna , Ky, not Red Bush. For many years, it was called Cuba Church. The church in the picture was torn down during that blasted Paintsville Lake Project. The land where the church once stood is now under water. Cold Springs United Baptist Church is now located on Cantrell's, Creek, Flat Gap, Ky. I will get some more info together and post it tomorrow. Ann

Another cousin is the treasurer! Both my Pappaw and Mammaw's funerals were held there and now, we have our family reunion there. There is a recent picture on Ann's Homeplace. Ann
