The photo postcards can be sent from photopoint albums. You can try sending one to yourself from one of my albums if you would like to try it. Visit my photo albums at: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=573222 After you click on an album you will see "thumbnails" of all the pictures in that album. The captions can be seen by moving your curser over the pictures. Click on one of the thumbnails to enlarge it. There is a place on the left-hand side of the screen when a picture is enlarged that says "E-mail a postcard." Click on that and follow the directions. You can create your own online photo albums by going to the PhotoPoint home page at: www.photopoint.com Sharon ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, August 20, 2000 7:15 AM Subject: Re: [KYJOHNSON] You have a PhotoPoint Postcard waiting for you! > Yeah me too. Yeah me too. How do you do that? My husband said it may have something to do with four-H.
Thanks again. I have many many unidentified old photos. My great grandmother almost never wrote a name on a picture. Bud
Sharon: With a magnifying glass, can you read the writing on the front of the ribbon? And thanks for doing this, Now, I have an idea of how to see if I can get some old photos identified. Bud Caudle
We tried looking at the picture with a magnifying glass, but found that we can see it best on the computer screen. We are wondering if it might be a ribbon for a group such as the Odd Fellows. I do recommend posting your pictures on a website such as photopoint and then posting a message on the appropriate Rootsweb lists. I have had quite a few pictures identified that way and have made contact with some distant cousins. It is a lot of fun. Pat, Flat Gap is in Johnson County. Ann
Can anyone tell me what the headings are in the 1880 census. I am looking at the actual census records on line but I can't make out what all the columns are for. Thanks, -- Marilee Spradlin Multhup The Spradlin Branches http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~spradlin/ Also researching: Blair, Selvage, Salyer, Hitchcock, Conley, Blanton, Harmon, and many, many more, in Eastern Kentucky, Johnson and Floyd Counties.
I have an obit from my local S.F. newspaper for a Frieda Mae Hardin, b. 9/22/1896, d. 9/9/2000. She was born in Eden Valley, MN, and raised in Flat Gap, KY. I don't know what county Flat Gap is in so thought I would send it to Johnson Co. since I belong to this list. If anyone is interested in this obit please contact me and I will send it to you. Pat
Magoffin County Surnames had Tracy Grant <[email protected]> looking for information on William Prince, father of Clarinda and Thomas. Also Peter Skaggs SR. and Martha Catherine (Cothron) Patrick, parents of Peter Skaggs Jr. Gail
John Prince, son of Wm is my gggrandfather. Our family tradition is that the Prince family were Cherokee....no proof as yet. Some report that they came from NC. What info do you have? By the way....many will tell you that the Indians did not have princess "rank" for their people.
Don, Bill, or anyone else, Do any of you know anything about a Cherokee Princess Honeysuckle, that's suppose to be the mother of William Prince, who is supposed to be the father of Clarinda Prince? There is also supposed to be a brother Thomas Prince. I believe that Miles T. Prince would also be a brother or son of Thomas since he married into the Rigsby Family. The Rigsbys and Skaggs had several children to marry each other and of course Clarinda Prince was married to the father, Peter Skaggs JR. Hoping for some feedback on this. Gail
Quite an article. Very informative. I would have thought they were very dangerous. Bud
I wonder if this is the same bear that introduced itself to me in April????? http://www.paintsvilleherald.com/pvherald/front6.html Ann
