Picklesimers. I've posted a picture of a man that may be Manfred M. Picklesimer B: January 29, 1873 D: June 17, 1940 son of William Picklesimer and Martha J. Eley. If you think you can determine for sure who it is, please take a look. I cropped it out of a larger picture of a train and 2 men. I'm posting it under Picklesimer and unknown. Bill - I can't seem to find the link to the census on your website. How am I overlooking it? Thanks for your efforts! They're appreciated! Hi friends and cousins, Just want to let you know that I have completed another segment of the 1920 Johnson Co.,Ky census. Thank you all for being patient with me while I updated my Stapleton Genealogy. I am also working on the Decendants of Henry DeJeanne (Jayne) and I may be calling on ya'll for some help. Thanks, Bill Reed
Faith: I need a copy of a deed (or the information) from Johnson Co. I don't know the date (pre 1937) but it is in Deed Book K, Page 77 and involves Eliphas Preston & Atchison Preston. If you could get it great. Don't go to a lot of trouble though. Thanks! I'll gladly pay for the cost and mailing. Hi Faith, Thanks for the offer! If they have obituaries available, and not too much trouble, I am always looking for Dennis Smith. I do not know his death date except that it was probably after 1930. I would even be grateful if you could just ask how I might be able to find an obit. Dennis was born in 1874. Hi Bud, By the way I enjoy you email comment on the Johnson Co. list. My grandfather is Lewis Lafayette LeMaster. He was b. Oct 27, 1859 in Johnson Co. His parents were John Remey LeMaster and Mary Davis LeMaster. Here is the line: Lewis Lafayette Lemaster/ John Remey/Eleazer/Francis/Eleazer/John/Joseph/Richard/Abraham/John Le Maistre. Papaw(Lewis Lafayette) was called Lafe and he left Johnson Co. and travelled a lot living in several states. He did not marry until he was 58 and lived the rest of his life in KY. He died in Ashland, KY when he was 97; I was in High School when he passed. He had great stories, many from Johnson Co. During the depression he gave the "homeplace" to Bascom LeMaster. This summer, my bros and I took mother to that homeplace. It was one of the few flat places in the beautiful area. I have the book by Katherine LeMaster Ryan....there are corrections that I've sent her regarding our family. Good luck on your quest. We come from an interesting line...
This is from a list owner on another list I belong so I thought I would pass it along for those searching how to search Mary Surnames Researched: Hajduk,Welch, Collins, Litton, and Szela Proud member of the Women Marines Association Proud lister at [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: Mary E. Maybe it's because I have just read "The Celestine Prophecy"... ;-) Anyway, I just got a query from someone with "only a name", no dates. I sent him to an address I have sent other folks to in the past, hoping he will learn how to get started on this hobby that has possessed me. After that message I deleted a couple of spams and the next thing in line was my copy of Rootsweb Review with this link... http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/bob.html This page is called "Reflections of a Newbie" and it contains a lot of information to help someone get started. William C.B. VanHoose (1821-1907) son of Levi Vanhoose father or Elizbeth Ann, Nancy Jane, Levi F. James H. etc is buried at the Shadrach Preston cemetery at Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Ky.
