    2. In a message dated 9/29/00 8:47:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: << ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/ >> Barb, I just accessed that program three times without any problems. Quite often when a computer begins to freeze up when running a program it is due to a lack of memory storage. My old computer did that a lot until I upgraded the memory. You may want to have a look at how much memory space you have left and see if it isn't time for an upgrade. Bill Reed

    3. Hi Barbara You need to make sure you have a browser which can open ftp sites and then make sure it is configured to open the site. I have Internet Explorer 5.0. If you have this browser, click on TOOLS the top of the screen, then click on INTERNET OPTIONS. Next click on the tab that says ADVANCED. You will get a list of items with check boxes next to them. Make sure the box that says "Enable folder view for FTP sites" is checked. Then click apply and finally click OK. If you have another version of Internet Explorer the INTERNET OPTIONS link is under VIEW instead of TOOLS. I can't help if you have some other browser. I would try clicking on the different names at the top of the screen until you find an OPTIONS and search through the links there until you find something with ftp listed. (ftp means file transfer protocol which is just another way to allow your computer access to a file. http means hyper text transfer protocol). I hope I have helped. 3. Hello everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me if anyone out there is having the same problem I am. Every time I try to access a site that starts: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/ my computer freezes. I can not go back, I can`t stop or refresh, nothing. The only thing I can do is shut down and restart, and has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Have I missed something or am I doing something wrong? Can someone help here? 1. [KYJOHNSON] Get Well Soon!
    2. Hi Gang! I just wanted to let you know that late this afternoon I spoke to Ann Lemaster-Applegate. She wanted me to post this so you all didn't think she abandoned ship. Ann has been sick all week and is now on complete bed rest until at least Saturday, if she is feeling better. She has a flu like virus, that as she put it "IS KICKING MY BUTT!" The Dr. says she is very weak and needs to stop burning her candle at both ends. So if you have anything for Ann, please wait until she is feeling better and is able to help you. If it has anything to do with Morgan or Lawrence Counties, please send it to me and I will try to do help. Say a prayer that she is back on her feet soon, and able to accommodate all of us like she is so known to do. Thanks Gang! Deanna Levito Morgan CC Lawrence ACC

    3. I am forwarding this from another list. I think these sites are wonderful. I know that many of us had miners in the family who worked in these W.Va. mines. The pictures are astounding! I have been out of town for a week, and just saw your message. I have lots of information on all the coal mining disasters from the Bureau of Mines in WV and other states. However, it was not considered a <major> disaster unless 5 or more men died. To us (their loved ones and the brave men) it was indeed a disaster. Jane DeMarchi who works at MSHA (Mine Safety & Health Administration office in Beckley) may be able to help you. All the mining records are kept there, and if the coal company they worked for filed a report she will have a record of it. Sometimes it is a lot, and other times scant details if it was a single or less than 5 men were killed. MSHA has a web site which can be reached from my webpage at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ridge/4478/link.htm. She is a great lady, and we have become good friends. The Dehue Exhibit is now in MSHA's museum. Her e-mail is[[email protected]]. I hope you finally found my website. lol Hope this helps.
