I've "rescued" an old snap shot photograph of Shirley MANN (Shirley SEEDS) and Charlie MANN with Donald KERKOW and Otto KERKOW which was taken in the early 1900's. Shirley is noted as Gaylord's Mother and Charlie is Gaylord's step-father. Otto is also mentioned as Donald's Father. The photograph is taken outdoors in a large field but I don't know what the venue is. Shirley is holding a newspaper with the headline "Mob Riots" showing in the photograph. Shirley and Charlie appear to be in their 30's and Donald about 3 years old and his Dad in his 30's as well. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family: Shirley SEEDS was b. 13 Jul 1885 in Cleveland, OH to parents Franklin Elmore SEEDS (1857-1923) and Elizabeth DEVINE (1863-1933). Shirley had four siblings including, Eunice SEEDS POPE (1884-1923); Hazel SEEDS HENNESSY (1886-1970); Gladies Matilda SEEDS GLEASON KERKOW (1891-1961); and Frank Alexander SEEDS (1896-1964). Shirley was married to Harry Louis GRESHAM (1884-1933) and together they had one son, Gaylord W. GRESHAM (1904-1976). Shirley's second marriage was to C. F. MANN (b. 1883). Shirley died 15 Dec 1921 in Jefferson Co., KY and is buried in the Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, KY. Charles Ferguson MANN was b. 3 Nov 1881 in Covington, KY to parents John William MANN (1839-1913) and Mary M. JOHNSON (1858-1932). Charles was one of three children born to this couple including, Edna T.; Charles Ferguson; and Bessie Blaine MANN, all born between 1880 and 1884. Charles' father had three additional children by a previous marriage including, Beliz Columbus "Bela"; Squire; and Margaret "Maggie" MANN all born between 1865 and 1874. Charles was first married to Shirley SEEDS GRESHAM (1884-1921) and after her death married two additional times, one to Lorena ? (b. 1896) and the other to Martha DANIEL (b. 1895). Charles died 29 Jun 1968 in River, KY. Donald Otto KERKOW was b. 22 Feb 1916 in Covington, KY to Louis Otto KERKOW (1886-1962) and Gladys or Gladies Matilda SEEDS GLEASON (1891-1961). He was one of four children born to this couple including, Donald Otto; Robert Frank; and Delmar Seeds; and Gladies Lee KERKOW, all born between 1916 and 1929. Donald married twice, first to Catherine G. Cartwell FINRAN (1914-1982) and together they had two children, and his second marriage was to Norma Emma PENNOYER. Donald died 19 Aug 1998 in St. Lucie, FL and is buried in the Woodlawn Park North Cemetery and Mausoleum in Miami, FL. Donald's father was Louis Otto KERKOW b. 22 Oct 1886 in Cincinnati, OH to parents Otto L. KERKOW (b. 1842) and Fredrecia KERKOW (b. 1841). Louis Otto had one sibling, a brother Paul Emil KERKOW (1884-1966) and he died 16 May 1962. I'm hoping to locate someone from the family so that the photographs can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Am working on my Dixon - Evans line that were in Johnson Co. Am told they had a farm near Stika. Spent 2 days last summer looking for graveyard near there, in hopes of finding their grave. But not knowing the area, it was searching for a needle in a haystack. Will post here some of the data on this family in hopes that someone will know something about them. Would appreciate any and all data, hints, suggestions etc. Would love to contact some of their descendants, there must be allot of them, left in the Johnson/Pike/Lewis counties. Please pass long this post if you know any . Also welcome any correction, or add too. Am not saying my research is "written in stone", could have some of it wrong......am open to and invite any thoughts. Certainly need some. William Dixon b about 1794 md. 1826 Lewis Co. Ky. There is much confusion on this John Couch...there are TWO different John Couch in two different locations. John Couch who married Eliz Besty Campbell Dec 1783 in Orange Co NC is different than the John Couch of Kentucky. John of Orange mother, a widow, was Mary (nee unkn) Couch & she married John Patterson in Orange Co 1777. The will of Mary unkn Couch Patterson of Orange names children of John & Besty (deceased)as Mary, Letitia, July, Eleanor & Elizabeth. All under 18 yrs of age. Executors of will are: worthy friends Robert Campbell, Roger Daniel & John Couch. Witnesses: Robert Couch & Roger "X" DanielOrange Co. Oct. 25, 1799 widow John Couch marries Susannah Smith d/o Martha & John Smith. July 1823 in Mecklenburg Co NC John Couchs' WILL mentions a wife Susannah. Children as Polly, Letty, Julia, Ealinor & Elizabeth & John S. Julia married twice, one was a Shields. She was a Civil War spy & Lived & Died in Ga. She was the only one of the girls to marry!***Ky John & Orange Co John both have the same DNA, but that is the only connection!***Ky John married Mary Polly Boon & a QUESTIONABLE 2nd MARRIAGE TO ANOTHER ELIZABETH CAMPBELL. Ky John also documented in Ashe Co NC.Common sense should ask yourself, "How does a 500 lbs man survive today?" 500 lbs was the weight or size of the wagon, he drove, could carry. like a 3/4 or 1/2 ton truck of today.Ky John was not German,as stated, as today the DNA says English. The connection of Orange & Ky Johns could be in England!Mary Polly Boon parents are still questionable. Either a niece or cousin for sure. ***MUCH THANKS TO RUTH COUCH COUCH OF NC for finding & sharing this information***thank you, Vicki Williams Elusivemaryb@sbcglobal.net

Hi Bill. Sorry, I don't have any information on this family? I track 127,000 individuals and only 10 are Wireman. I checked the birth records & death records for Wireman to see if I could assist, the cemetery records & the cemetery records I have and found nothing but the census you already have. Denisa, I have a Bessie Castle that is married to a James Fyffe. I don't know if this is the same person, as your dates of 1895 - 1936 do not match. But mine may be incorrect. The Bessie that I have has dates of 1897, Floyd Co. KY, died 28 Sep. 1985, in Magoffin Co. KY. She was married to a James Fyffe, and I have one child listed, as Nola M. Fyfe, born 23 Feb. 1919, Johnson Co. KY. If we are talking about the same Bessie Castle and James Fyffe, contact me at _dlmeenach@aol.com_ (mailto:dlmeenach@aol.com) Don M.
