Hi All, I live in Wilmore. It in down in the south west section of Jessamine County. It is 5 miles west of Nicholasville, and 4 miles north of High Bridge. Wilmore is a quite little town. From some old pictures I have it don't look much different then it did a 100 years ago. It's one of those place that you can drive or walk down the street and people smile and wave to you. Kids still play out, with little fear to their safety. All and all it sort of reminds we of one of those Rockwell Paintings. My friend, Margaret Morgan is the city planner here. She has potted flowers hanging from every telephone pole. You will also see an American Flag on most every pole. How this is from city limits to city limits. If you don't belive me. Come see for your self. At Christmas time, all the old buildings outlined in little lights, and every tree along the street is lit. Of corse, every one here goes to bed with the chickens. Every winter I go down and take pictures. No people, no cars, and nothing open down there, just Christmas everywhere. In a way, it a little sad. I don't know why they keep doing it. But, I hope they never stop. That remind me. John Fitch owns the IGA store here. He also has a small Bed & Breakfast down town. This old house, is call Scott's Station Inn. I think many years ago it was used as a boarding house. He has sure got it fixed up nice. I told John about you all. He said, that you all are welcome anytime, and if you are a member of the Historical Society he will give you 20% off his rates. How about that. I have known John Fitch, sense he was a little boy. This is a small place and can only accommodate about 15 people. I am not much on TV. When I run out of something to do, I go down a set on a bench in front of the IGA. I am never there long until some of my old friends have gathered. People are a lot more interesting then TV. Don't you think?
