The Arron Farra Cemetery is on the west side of U.S. 27 across the road from the Oldham Subaru Car Dealership. The property where it is located is currently being developed into a shopping center where the new Kohl's Department Store in opening. The cemetery was moved from its original location to another site on the property next to the main road into the development. This was done in compliance with a cemetery preservation ordinace Jessamine County and the City of Nicholasville passed about two years ago. All the bodies with orginal caskets were exhumed, placed in individual vaults and reinterred at the new location. The cemetery was mapped and plotted prior to moving so all the bodies and stones would be placed back as close to each other as they were originally buried. The iron fence and stones bordering the cemetery was placed back as it was orginally constructed. Charles Ham, Erestine Ham, and Howard Curry Teater of the Jesamine County Historical Society were prersent during the removal and reinterrment of the graves. A family source says that they were buried in "Aaron Farra's graveyard." Their daughter Sallie Neat may have married Aaron Farra ca 1816. Does anyone have a clue where this is and have a reading of it?? Thanks.
