I am Pat Hunt and I am researching the three names - Canter, Proctor and Carothers. The Proctor and Carothers line (Ezekiel Proctor md. Nancy Carothers) went to Lawrence County, IN circa 1820. Nancy was the daughter of James Carothers, Revolutionary War soldier. There are several Canter lines in Jessamine County. My line is Thomas Canter married to Julia Ann Browning.
