Hi Researchers, Just wanted to let you folks know about a fundraiser the Woodford County Historical Society is having Saturday, May 22nd at the Versailles Cemetery. The time if 6:00pm to 9:00pm. It is called "Dinner With The Dead." If that doesn't get you attention noting will! We will begin with a nice box lunch type dinner. After that you will have a guided walking tour through the cemetery with histories of many of the families buried there. Along the way you will meet some of the permanent residents of the cemetery who will be dressed in period costume and tell you about their lives. This will require a good bit of walking. Believe me I know, as I have walked it about a thousand times. The price of the dinner tickets are $18.00 each, and tickets much be purchased ahead of time, so we will know have many to expect for dinner. Hope you can make it. We will also have for sell the newest version of our published "Versailles Cemetery" book. This was published in 2002 and has information from all of the stones as well as the cemetery records for those who do not have stones.
