Morning All, First, let me thank you all for all the nice comments you sent me on the Kentucky River Guide. The folks that put that together well be very pleased. If you make to Jessamine County sometime, and get to go on the river, I am quite sure that little guide will give you a deeper understand of the Kentucky River. I was at a meeting yesterday down at High Bridge Park. I think it was George that came and told me that as he was coming out of Nicholasville, he seen our little Cemetery Committee out cleaning up the old Peter Nave Cemetery on KY #29. I am just like a child at Christmas, every time they clean one of these old cemeteries. I would almost bet, they will find Leonard Nave, the father of Peter Nave. I would love to be in a little better health, I would be right out their with them. Any time some of you want to get together, and clean up one of these old cemeteries, just let us know. It would be one of the most rewarding things to ever did in you life. Wouldn't this be a great project to do with you kids or maybe those grand-kids. I bet it would be something they would remenber. I used to be in sales (I bet you would have never guessed that) and travel through out the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. One of the first thing I noted, was how clean they keep their cemeteries. It not a bit unusual to drive down a back road and see a bunch of people out cleaning one. I remember one time, I was up in Clay County, trying to find the grave site of my grandfather's people. A woman took me to the little cemetery setting high on a ridge. I became very excited when I seen how clean it was, and taught some of my Baker family was still living in the area. I ask the woman, she said no, that all this family died out many years ago. My next question was, who clean it? She pointed to another small cemetery on a other ridge some distance away, and told me the people that cleaned that one cleaned the one were we stood. The folk up in the mountains, of Eastern Kentucky must get the same good feeling our people do, in cleaning these cementers. The only difference is, they been doing it along, and have never lost it.
