Scott, I believe that Joseph was the son of Joseph Thompson and Sarah Paul and that he was born in Jessamine County on 15 September 1817. Unfortunately, his marriage was not recorded in his parents bible. My belief is that he was the Joseph listed as a carpenter living in Lexington at the time of the 1880 census. It seems likely that he would have died and been buried in Lexington. I do not however find him listed on the Lexington Cemetery listing found on the Fayette County Website. I think that you and I exchanged information some time ago. But, I don't recollect that it was on the Thompson family. Bob Thompson Prior Lake, MN
