    1. Re: [KYJESSAMINE] Samuel M. Duncan
    2. Connie Shotts
    3. The Filson in Louisville has a few of the original letters that Samuel Duncan wrote to Bennett Young in its Manuscripts Collection. Young published the History of Jessamine County, using much of the information that Duncan provided for him. In many of Duncan's letters, he states that he is sending letters written by many people, including William Price, to Bennett. Unfortunately, it does not appear that the Filson has many of those letters. I was searching for a letter that Dr. Peter Trisler had written to the Rev. David Zeisberger and that Young had quoted in his History. That letter was not there. It may be that Durret ended up with some of Young's materials. If so, those items may be in the possession of the University of Chicago. Good luck in your search. ----- Original Message ----- From: <k9sgt@heart.net> To: <KYJESSAM-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2004 8:29 PM Subject: [KYJESSAMINE] Samuel M. I am researching my GGGG Grandfather, Wm. Dunlap (1743-1816) of Fayette KY. In my research I ran across a book The House of Dunlap. In that book Rev. Hanna states that a letter from a Wm. Price to Wm. Dunlap was in the possession of a Samuel M. Duncan Esq. This book was printed in 1956. Does anyone know if any Duncan family members are still in possession of the letter? I would dearly love to obtain a photocopy of the letter. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. >
