Rumor is he died when he was about 3 yrs old. He would have been born about 1907, because he is not listed in the 1910 census, and he is suppose to be born after his brother Hubert, who was born in 1906. His name his Harry Woods, son of Joseph Woods and Lucy Margaret Cobb Woods. Harry could be short for Harold. If anyone can help, I really appreciate it. THanks, Margaret Patton Knoxville, TN

Cousin Barney Parker of Brenham, Washington Co., Texas succumbed to cancer, son of one of the Sheriffs of Washington County. It is very beautiful and you start off in your RV at Independence and go down an incredible road to Washington-on-the-Brazos where they built a little memory hall to the Signing of the Declaration of Independence for Texas back in 1834 or something! They have celebrations and reenactments each year on Texas Independence Day around March 3rd!! Well! Cousin Burney Parker gave his info on the George Walker's, lst Walke to set foot from WV (Frederick County, VA back then) into Kentucky and have the very first white settlement! His second wife, Francis gave the beautiful work of a lifetime of research on the family to BAYLOR UNIVERSITY!

In 1905, Sarah English Wade married Owen Blakeman. In the 1910 census Sarah is back with her mother - she states she has had 3 children, all of which are living but she only has 1 child with her. She would later marry Albert Suell. Does anyone know who Sarah's children were and when and where Sarah married Albert Suell? Thankyou bhunt@ycnx.net

    2. Mary Hopper Your request for information interested me. I'm sorry, I cannot provide any info as to your request, but I noticed you were a HOPPER, and you were interested to the name BLACKBURN, as well. My mother was Edith Louise Blackburn (b. 1907, d.1997), who married Warder S. Meshew (b.1902, d. 1987) in Richmond, IN. I'm Ronald Louis Meshew, a twin to Robert Edward Meshew, and we both are the children of Ward and Edith. Edith Louise BLACKBURN was the youngest daughter of Henry Vatchil BLACKBURN (b. 11/261876 in KY, d. 1/30/1946 in San Diego, CA), m. 7/7/1903 in Jessamine County, KY to Lulie (Lula) Pryor HOPPER (b. 2/27/1886, d. circa 1945 in Monterey, KY). Lulie P. was the last child born of John W. HOPPER, and his third wife, Sarah J (Jane) TAYLOR. John W. HOPPER (b. 6/6/1921, d. 9/11/1896) was the only child, a son, of William HOPPER, who m. 3/4/1819, Melinda WILHITE (later known as WILLHOITE) in Jefferson County, IN. John's first wife was Margaret SPAULDING, who he married in April, 1843. She died in April, 1873, and John then married Ann TAYLOR (not related to Sarah Jane TAYLOR). Ann died on August 13, 1877, and John then married Sarah. John also married Armilda PERKINS (License issued 1/7/1892), but they had no children, and Armilda and John separated prior to John's death in 1896. John HOPPER was known to have had (6) living children from his first wife, one (1) child from Ann TAYLOR and (4) with Sarah TAYLOR. I might add that Dora Hopper, my great aunt, and an older sister to Lulie P., married Elsworth P. BLACKBURN, a brother to Henry V. BLACKBURN. I have very little information on Henry V. BLACKBURN, except that his father was a John BLACKBURN. Most of the above information on John HOPPER was gleaned from his pension papers from the Civil War, as he was wounded, and drew a pension until he died. If this is part of your interest in the HOPPER and BLACKBURN names, I would appreciate your inputs to correct any sited errors that you notice. Also, I would like to gain any information you might have that will augment my studies. Also, if you need additional data, I would gladly supply what I have. Respectfully, Ron Meshew, in Rocky Mount, NC

    3. Leave town on the East Maple St, a few miles out of town turn left on the Chrisman Mill Rd. Follow that to Mt Lebanon, After you pass a rd to the left called Cobbs Lane, continue up the hill aand around the curve(If they haven't done somethimg to the road) There used to be a small house and a large white one. I think Grover Warner built the small one. The large one used to have a store in the corner of the yard. Mr Lafayette Englush lived there and ran the store. There may be a cemetery there brhind the house or up on the hill to the right. One house burned and I am not sure about the other. ----- Original Message ----- Emma From: <roxmoores@yahoo.com> To: <KYJESSAM-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 08, 2004 9:16 PM Subject: [KYJESSAMINE] Grover Warner Farm-English Cemetery > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: English > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ABB.2ACE/3487 > > Message Board Post: > > Does anyone know how to get to the Grover Warner Farm?
