It unfortuantely is listed in the G Section in the Court House under Gates. If you look at the License it is clearly Yates. Well the reason for this message. Would anyone researching Rice family in Jessamine County Kentucky and surrounding Area Counties happen to know who the parents of Margaret Rice would be. Here is her birth and death vitals. b. January 17, 1827 and died in may 10, 1918 in Spencer County Kentucky. The information given on the Death Certificate is that she could have born in Woodford County Kentucky and the father could be a Thomas Rice from Mercer County Kentucky. Have not found any connections with this information. To end I am bringing this matter to FORUM to see if anyone would have anything to add to this question. Thanks, Jeff Jeppson

I have included what little I have on him below and was hoping you might have something on this gentlemen in one of your reference books. Tatom > > Located next to Crafton Tatum in Madison County, KY, was a John Tatum. Who this John Tatum was and what happened to him is uncertain. It has been suggested by some that he was a younger brother of Crafton, but no record of him has been found in Lunenberg County, VA, nor was he mentioned in the descendants of Reuben Tatum in the settling of Benjmain's will. But if Reuben JR was omitted from the settlement, could not another son for what ever reason have been left out, too? Whether or not John was related to Crafton, what happened to him is still a problem. He may have moved to Jessamine County, KY (a John Tatum lived there in 1830), or he may have moved elsewhere (like IN?). > > > I have a document, which says â?oLucinda Tatum â?¦â?¦was married to Samuel A. Tatum (the A. was added to distinguish him from other Samuel Tatums). Samuel A. was the son of John Tatum, a Mexican War Soldier who lived to be 103 years of age. He was blind for the last thirty years of his life with the exception of the last three years, when his eyesight came back to him. John had three other children, John (called Jack), Peggie and Bettie.â? > > This family is not related to Samuel Tatum, who came to Madison County KY about the same time from Culpeper County VA. The tradition that Samuel's granddaughter Lucinda was not related to her husband, John's son Samuel, is correct. > > John Tatum, age 26-45 and wife same age, three sons and two daughters under 10, are found in the 1810 census of Madison County. He must have married about 1800. In 1820 he is in neighboring Garrard County, over 45, with wife, a son about 18, son and daughter age 10-16, and three younger children. > > In 1830 there is a John Tatum, circumstantially the same man, in Jessamine County. His birth is 1770-1780, wife still living and nine children at home. Jessamine County records may give more family information, and perhaps some notice of his death. From tax records in Virginia, Crafton Tatum was born about 1772, so John Tatum born about 1775. > > John Tatum married Polly Taylor on March 3, 1800. Polly was the daughter of Thomas Taylor and Hannah Bartleson, and was the sister of Mary Bartlesman, the first wife of Thomas. Upon of Hannahâ?Ts death, Thomas Taylor married Elizabeth Vincent. > > The Taylors came from Rowan County, NC, but were originally from Anne Arundell Co., MD. Both the Taylors and the Bartletsons were Tories, who moved to Kentucky in the aftermath of the Revolutionary War. > >

The article is well documented and can be used to prove lineage for most lineage societies. The second part, published in Vol. 48, No.2, follows the children and grandchildren to Kentucky and Missouri. Anyone having additional facts about this family is asked to please contact me at the address below. We are most interested in learning the whereabouts of a son Benjamin Robinson who married a Fanny and was in Kentucky, any connections between the many George Robinsons and this family, and the children of Mary Ann Elizabeth Robinson who first married Silas Conduit and second James Chapman in Caroline County. Bennett Young wrote a history of Jessamine County that was published around 1899. The book has been reprinted and is available from several sources. I believe the Jessamine County Historical Society has copies for sale at its offices in Farmers Square in Nicholasville. ----- Original Message ----- From: cep54glp52@centurytel.net Date: Sunday, August 8, 2004 10:51 am Subject: [KYJESSAMINE] Jessamine County History > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ABB.2ACE/3500 > > Message Board Post: > > I would like to have a copy of Jessamine County History.
