    1. BLAKEMAN REUNION
    2. D McMillen
    3. A BLAKEMAN reunion is to be held 2 October 2004 in the Memorial Building at the American Legion Park in Greensburg, Ky. The time is 10:00 am until 3:00 p.m., Central Standard Time. We plan to have lunch around 12:00 noon, and ask each person attending to bring a brown bag lunch and their own beverage. (No alcoholic beverages please.) Tables and chairs are furnished. Our goal is to get as many BLAKEMAN relatives and descendants together as possible. We would like to exchange family information and try to connect as many families as possible. Bring photos if you have them, as well as Bible records and family records. A copy machine will be available, for a small cost per copy. Early BLAKEMAN-BLEAKMAN-BLACKMAN settlers were Adam, Aaron and Moses. They had children who settled in Green and surrounding counties. We are also asking anyone who currently lives on "BLAKEMAN Land" to attend to help us pinpoint who lived where. Anyone who may have a cemetery on their land that has a BLAKEMAN buried there, is also welcome. This may be the one someone is looking for. If you need more information you may contact Martha Houk at 270-932-4950, or Ona Sidebottom at 270-932-4003. If you have access to email, you may contact Dixie McMillen at dtmc@bellsouth.net. We look forward to seeing you in Green Co!

    1. SMITH, MINTON, CORMAN, TAYLOR
    2. Swanson Scott
    3. Jennie Smith, daughter of Rufus and Susan (Brown) Smith, married 2 December 1873 Jessamine County KY: [as if there weren't enough already]: John Melvin Smith. When she died, age 97, 11 February 1953 in Lexington, her obituary identified several nieces and nephews whom I cannot place. I'd be grateful for any help. Here are the five and where they lived in 1953: Mrs. James A. Corman of Jessamine County KY; the birth record of one child seems to identify her as Lillie (Smith) Corman, born 1893-1894 KY Mrs Henry Minton of Lexington KY; the birth records of her children and the census identify her as Susan (Taylor) Minton, born 1899-1900 KY. Percy Taylor and Henry Taylor of Cincinnati; unidentified. Jennie (-----) Skooler of Cincinnati Apparently one of Jennie Smith's sisters married a Taylor. The published Jessamine records do not include that marriage. Possibly it took place in Fayette County. I'd be grateful to anyone who can identify these people. Happy to share information. Many thanks for your help, and best wishes to you. Scott Swanson Department of History Butler University 4600 Sunset Avenue Indianapolis, Indiana 46208-3485 sswanson@butler.edu
