Pat....Try through your local Library (Inter Library Loan Service--a freebie, generally) to request microfilm of Louisville newspaper (try Louisville Courier-Journal) for the date in question plus several weeks thereafter; I've had unusual good luck in tracing my several family lines in Louisville using this technique. It's a challenge to go through the papers one by one looking for obits, but they are usually listed (i.e., the page # in the paper) in the front index of each paper.
