    1. [KYJEFFER] Naturalization Records
    2. Alan Murray
    3. Diane, At the Jefferson County Archives they have an index of the naturalization records. This is only an index and gives the date they became naturalized. My understanding is that the actual records are in different places. Some may be lost. There are some in Frankfort at the State Library and archives. The early records are included in the Common Law court minutes, I researched 1820 and came across half a dozen. David (not sure of his last name) at the Jefferson County Archives is the one who told me where to find them. If you give them a call or e-mail maybe they might be able to help you. If you do find where they are, there are two things to look for. First the individual would come into court and give his intent to become a citizen. Secondly he would later (may a year or more later) come into court to give his oath of allegiance. Between the two times in court they seem to always tell the country they are from and sometimes the city, county or providence. Also note that the two times they come into court is not always the same court. An example of this is Christopher Jacob Williams who declared his intentions at a Court in Philadelphia, PA but gave his oath in Louisville. ~Alan
