    3. Teddy: Thanks for the information. I thought the bond was probably when they got the license, but I didn't know the bondsman was the one who paid for it. Was it common for someone other than the couple to pay for the license? I write all my dates "day month year" in my genealogy work. I have found a number of errors in people's work where they reversed the day and month so I always like to be sure. 1859 Louisville Directory has on page 192 Richy, Jean B fancy good self employed; and again on page 276 under Fancy Goods, Toys 427 Market Street This is what I find in the 1860 census J B Richy 60 M Fancy Store France Pauline Richy 49 F France Charles Richy 20 M KY Amidde 14 M KY Adele Buler 28 F Saleswoman France I have not found them in the 1870 Census, but the name may be wrong. In 1850 they lived in District 3, in 1860 in Ward 5, by 1890 the address was 2424 Portland Ave which was in the 12th Ward in 1900. It takes a long time to go through the entire census for Louisville on Ancestry.com. Perhaps he could be found in the 1870 Louisville City Directory, but I do not currently have access to that book. Family information say JB Richy died in 1875. May well have been living with one of the children. Possibly with the daughter Louise, but I do not know who she married. She was living at home in 1850 but not in 1860. Is there a place to check marriage records between 1850 and 1860? I had the 1880 Census information. The listing for Amegie A. Richy is Amedee Augusta son of JB Richy. The nephew John B listed is JB's grandson, son of Charles Nicholas Richy who died in 1869 when John B was 6 yrs. old.
