I have a Speed family that lived in that area that is not related directly related to the Speed family that built Farmington in Louisville. The family that I have married into the family of Joseph Stephens, who is related to the family of John Gay Moore, brother of James Francis Moore, who resided at Fish Pools. In looking at a 1793 map that is in the map drawers in the Kentucky Room at the main branch of the Louisville Free Public Library, John Gay Moore owned property in the vicinity of where Palatka Road is today.
