Julie, I have an index for 1840, but did not find a SEID or SIED, either in KY or Michigan, where the 1850 census said the children were born. Found only one RIDLE possibility: Census Index: U.S. Selected Counties, 1840 Riddle, William State : KY County : Jefferson Co. Location : Louisville Year : 1840 Page # : 135 Sorry, but I don't have access to the census for 1840 at all.
