I grew up in the "Southend" of Louisville. Two weeks ago, I walked the Schardein Cemetery of which you spoke of on 7th Street Road seeking info for a fellow researcher. It is a short distance from where I was raised. To reach the entrance to the cemetery, one must turn off of 7th St onto Homeview Dr. At the stop sign, make a right which leads to the entrance. I was saddened to see the extent of vandalism that had been done since my last visit there. It is a good-sized cemetery and well-kept with grass mowed and trimmed. I am unable to answer your question as to whether this area was named at one time for the Schardein family.
