hello everyone! this list is fab, too! thanx for this website addy... it was very interesting. i have printed it out and will add to my "scrapbook." i loved reading this! however, i think i have a question about a street name... FYI: i was born in lebanon jct & i attended 7th grade at St. Benedict's Catholic School (1951). i spent my summer vacations at my Wm. H. Thomas grandparents home on "Elm Street," the same street that St. B's church & school are on. so i am questioning this street name on the LJ page, "EBB AND FLOW OF ITS FORTUNES HAVE BEEN LINKED TO A TURN OF THE TRACKS, THE TIDE OF A RIVER," by Bobbie Harville © The Courier-Journal Harville wrote: "...St. Benedict School on Poplar Street, the first parochial school in Bullitt County, opened in 1948 with about 60 students..." since the school was 2 doors from my grandparents home, i am questioning whether "Elm Street" was renamed from "Poplar Street" or vice-versa. does anyone on the list know? is anyone on the list from lj? i remember when st. b's school was being built. we used to "explore" the construction and we couldn't wait until the school would be finished. it was beautiful. the nuns were great! with so few students, we received a great deal of help etc... i have many fond memories. it's so sad to know that it has been or is being closed. of all the small towns in the world, lj was the best! charlotte clark
