    3. How do I get access to the "Index to Death Books for Louisville 1866 -?". I know that some of my Keagan rellies are listed in the index, but I don't know how to get the actual info that is in the Death Books. I looked for this on the LDS web site in the catalog for Louisville but found nothing. The names in the index do not come up on an Ancestry search. I got the info in the first place by paying someone to do lookups. Does anyone know how an out of town lister can get access to the Death books for Louisville from 1866 - and to the index for them? 2. Diane: I do research at the Louisville Public Library of death records. I do not know, nor have I ever heard, of such records. The only chance that I know of that you would have is if you have the death dates one could look in the 1866 news papers. Most of the older newspapers had very few obituaries and the ones list were mostly death notices. I would be very interested in obtain the information if someone writes and tells you were the death index are. 3. For Louisville, a copy of the Index for Death Records 1866-1910 and the Death/Mortuary records are, also, on microfilm at the Main Louisville Library. The person's Name, Color, Sex, Condition, Date of Death, Date of Birth, Age, Occupation, Place of Birth, Cause of Death, Residence, Ward, Name of Undertaker, Place of Burial, Date of Burial and Name of Doctor is what is listed across the page on each line entry. You could try contacting the Genealogy Section at the Library and ask them if there are any circulating copies through the interlibrary system. The Genealogy Section phone number is: 1-502-574-1616 Janis
