Hello Pam: An obituary notice usually goes much more into detail, such as where person lived, names of children and etc. Death notices were usually only a couple or three lines giving mostly that person had died and time and place of funeral. I have seen some that would be under a heading "DEATH" and may have four or five names listed one below the other. There would be no information on them at all.     3. I was told by one librarian who was helping me search that death notices are free, whereas obits cost.
