Many thanks to Janis, Alison, Debbie and everyone else who helped me to identify the "Index for Death Records 1866-1910" for Louisville" - especailly to Alison who gave me the LDS film numbers for the volumes. I revisited the on line LDS catalog for Louisville, Kentucky and found no reference to death records, so the film numbers were the only way to find the films. Had I known that these records were available when I was doing the HEENEY side of the family, I probably could have found quite a few records. I appreciate all the help with this question. Diane, I was at the Library last nite and inquired about getting these records through the interlibrary sharing. I was told that you could check with your library. As far as cost, I was told it would depend on what or if your library charged a fee. It might be worth asking them. If they participate in this program, it might be cheaper than through the LDS and maybe you could have access to them longer. Just a thought, Janis

A list of subject/record headings will appear. At the very end of the list will be VITAL Records. The birth and death records and their indexes are listed under this subject heading. One can also use a place search such as Jefferson part of Kentucky or Jefferson County (part of) Kentucky to get a list of subject headings for records specific to Jefferson County.
