I am going to expose my ignorance here and explain that when I read the film title "Births and index; Deaths and index"- I understood that to be only the index - not the actual records. After I read your post, I read the film notes and at the bottom of the list I could clearly see that not only was the index there - the actual records are there. Thanks, Deborah, for clearing this up. Thanks, Janis for the info on inter-librry loan. I will probably get this info from LDS. Now that I know the records are there, I plan to search both the HEENEY and KEEGAN sides of the family. Maybe this thread will help other people who are searching from out of town. It is possible that there could be another ditzy researcher who missed the fact that the death records are contained on the same set of films with the index for them. Duh! Speaking of inter-library loan, I tried to get church records and cemetery records for Assumption Cathedral and St. Louis Cemetery from Notre Dame University, which has these records on microfilm, but they will not lend them out on inter-library loan. Again - thanks to everyone who helped. Diane Shaw Hillsboro, MO (St. Louis)
