According to "The Encyclopedia of Louisville", page 525-26, "Long Run Baptist Church. Located in eastern Jefferson County on Flat Rock Rd., the Long Run Baptist Church is one of the oldest existing Baptist congregations in the Louisville area................ This goes on for several more paragraphs, giving the history of the church. Last paragraph: "A new building was completed in 1961, the same year that the site, with the ruins and the cemetery, was deeded to the Jefferson County Fiscal Court, which maintains it as a public shrine."
