The plane went down at Standiford Field. It was a Resort Airlines plane. Bad bolt in the tail. The soldiers were from Puerto Rico. I flew on a Resort Airlines plane from Syracuse, NY to Biloxi, MS in 1951. It was a old C-46 loaded with airman and their baggage. The plane barely got off the ground. During our flight, it rained, the pilot came back to borrow a rain coat because the water was coming in the cockpit. Now and then, one of the engines would miss a beat. This was my first flight and I was not given a choice. Resort Airlines was Government contractor hired to move troops. Bill Brinly
