Hi again, I went down to the Library of Congress today and checked out the city directories for 1956 and '57. Bob, Teddy and others.. You guys are all terrific. With your help, I was able to determine that the individual who wrote the letter I have is Frances Purdy who was indeed the daughter of Susie Ebbs (Epps) and Robert Purdy. This makes Susie the sister to Mack (or Mclelland) Ebbs (a.k.a. Romayne) and it solves the mystery... Thank you all for your kind and generous responses.
