SIMMS/SIMS possible his name was William E. b 31 Aug 1907 Louisville, KY m 31 Dec 1931 Freda M BROOKS, Tacoma, WA d 21 Oct 1950 Tacoma, WA bur Tacoma, Pierce Co, WA According to his marriage application his parents were: Edward SIMMS born in KY and Mary MATTINGLY born in Lousiville, KY. Believe Ernest was an orphan by 1920 and know he served in the military as he has a military marker. No military records for his years of service are available. No parents listed on his death certificate. His wife never spoke of him to the children but they believe he had at least a brother...no name. Have information on an Edward and Mary Ida in Marion Co that fits except they had a son William E. born in 1907 and no mention of an Ernest. Any help or suggestions? Anyone searching these families? Dorothy, on Family search there is a Mary Ida married to Edward Simms in 1901 in Marion Co, KY In Marion Co 1910 census Edward 38 and Ida 26 have these children; Joseph A, 6, Bettie 5, William E. 3 and Joseph Earl 1. Do you think these are the right ones? I saw the children on the orphanage lists; don't know if this is the right family.
