    3. Hello, as a have received various mails to give members of the list some guidance in the German reserach I want to give you all some hints: You can access the German phone book online at: http://www.teleauskunft.de There is a portal for German speaking genealogy research at: http://www.genealogienetz.de/, which gives also information in English. >From the Main page you can access the German ancestor database, small version of rootsweb.com at http://gedbas.genealogy.net/index.jsp. Just enter the searched Name in the field "Nachname" and press the button "Suchen". Further you can access the database for German researchers at http://foko.genealogy.net/index.jsp. You can search for names or cities to look for researcher who's focus is on that name or the location. If you are on the result page you can use the check boxes to get the address of the researcher. The information will be sent to your email adress after you have agreed to the general agreement (just enter your email adress and press the large button). You can check out also the database for emigrants from the Kingdom of Wuerttemberg at http://www.auswanderer.lad-bw.de/cgi-bin/main.pl?link=recherche. Just click on "Suchformular" and then enter the name you are researching. Be aware that the database is by far not complete. I hope, this will help you to find your ancestors. Eventually you should also connect to some of the rootsweb mailing lists for the respective areas. Kind regards, Ruediger Munich, Germany ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please check out my emigration website: http://home.nexgo.de/r.kemmler
