I found a will in Clark Co. IN that I am hoping that someone will be able to identify. The will is that of George JONES, written in 1806, and in probate by 1/9/1808. The will mentions his wife Jane, and his step-daughter, Polly ARCHER. In the event that Polly Archer dies, then her share of the estate is to go to George's sister, Polly JONES. Executors of the will are Samuel GWATHMEY (son of Owen Gwathmey and Ann Rogers CLARK) and Davis FLOYD. Witnesses to the will are Susann FLOYD, Polly L. FLOYD, Davis FLOYD. On 1/9/1808, Robert A. NEW and Gabriel J. (Jones) JOHNSTON appear in court and swear that the signature is that of Susann Floyd. Here is the glue that binds: Susann Floyd is Susannah Jones Johnston Lewis Floyd. Robert A. New married Sophia HARRISON, daughter of John Harrison and Mary Ann Johnston. Gabriel Jones Floyd is their brother. Their parents are Benjamin Johnston and Dorothy Jones. Dorothy Jones is the daughter of Gabriel Jones b. 1717 and Mary EDMONSON. This makes me wonder if George is related to them...
