Does anyone know of any research done on Pond Creek Settlement? It is referred to constantly in early Jefferson Co. documents. Where exactly did it lie, and what families are associated with it? Was it actually a town or a general area? Alex
Alex, I checked "The Encyclopedia of Louisville" for "Pond Creek". On page 44, in an article on Architecture, is says, "Settlements at Pond Creek, Mann's Lick, Shively's Mill, Flat Lick, Transylvania, Middletown, and Brunerstown (Jeffersontown) are shown on an 1819 map of Jefferson County." That's the only reference to Pond Creek listed in the index of the book. Pat Settle CatMom1@aol.com wrote: Does anyone know of any research done on Pond Creek Settlement?
