Would the earlier Sections of the cemetery be those listed as A, B, C etc with the later being those of numerals? Wilma
Here's a quote from the Cave Hill Cemetery book published in 1985: "A string of narrow lakes, running north-south, bisect the main road and they also demarcate the pre-1890 part of the cemetery to the west from the post-1890 development to the east." On the map of the cemetery, the earlier sections are alphabetical and the later ones numerical. As you enter the cemetery from Baxter Ave., you go through the earlier sections to get to the Administration Building. If you've never been to Cave Hill, you really should try to get there. It's beautiful, especially in the spring when the redbuds and dogwoods are in bloom.
