I was reading old messages from the Jefferson County List, and found one about Charles BORNWASSER. I was in Louisville two weeks ago, and in my visits to cemeteries (Cave Hill, St. Louis) found BORNWASSER with the GRAU family which I was actually looking for. Reading the 1910 and 1920 Census records after I returned, it looks like Minnie BORNWASSER was the daughter of Eberhard Grau (I think he was the uncle of my great-grandfather, William F Grau). Minnie was apparently married to Louis Bornwasser. They both died early - Louis prior to 1910, Minnie at the age of 49 IN 1911. Louis was listed in the 1890 Louisville directory as a grocer at 1747 Portland Ave; according to my cousins (72 and 92) and the 1887 and 1890 Lousiville directories , Eberhard Grau had a bakery at the same address. I don't know, however, how Charles fits into this. Although Louis, one of the sons of Minnie, did work at a packing house (probably meat-packing, I guess, based on the area). Can anyone shed light on any of this? Thanks everyone. When I searched for ancestors, I found friends! --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
